CAREC coordinates the regional subcomponents of RESILAND CA+ across five Central Asian countries, managing a Regional Exchange Platform for high-level dialogue on transboundary landscape restoration and climate resilience.
Three Active Regional Subcomponents

Kyrgyz Republic

Developing an online catalog of climate induced disasters, NBS guidelines, and a regional mudflow mitigation roadmap for Central Asia.

Tajikistan

Developing and managing the Regional Exchange Platform, promoting transboundary policy dialogue on landscape restoration and protected areas management.

Uzbekistan

Promoting Uzbekistan's collaboration with CA countries on transboundary cooperation, landscape restoration, and regional knowledge exchange.
Engagement Phase
Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are engaged through advisory and landscape study activities, with active efforts underway to integrate them into the full regional subcomponent framework.

Kazakhstan

Piloting agroforestry and climate-adaptive seedling production. Aligned with Kazakhstan's national goal of planting 2 billion trees. Regional subcomponent under development.

Turkmenistan
● Advisory Phase
World Bank landscape study underway — identifying hotspots of land degradation and priority areas for restoration intervention. Active project development in progress.
